Dear Editor,
Inspired by the recent homemade signage for ‘Potholesville’, otherwise known as Old Bridge Way, Shefford, I was sorely tempted to make some new signs myself for Gold Lane, Biddenham.

Since moving to Saxon Park in 2023, I have submitted reports consistently about the horrendous state of this road. I have attached a screenshot showing mine and others’ reports.
I wonder how many before the proposed resurfacing actually happens? Do we perhaps have to hit a magic number like 100 before the team bothers?

The road is actually unsafe for cyclists, as the holes are so large that I have to swerve into traffic to avoid them. Perhaps if someone is involved in an accident, the road will finally be fixed?
I was heartened the other day to see a truck out working on that road. Coming back home, I found that they had patched perhaps 3 potholes, the rest ignored.
Meanwhile, Main Road had major works completed last summer, despite being in much better condition.
Bins and roads are the bare minimum I expect from our Council, to which I now pay an increased monthly fee (again). I call on them to fix this situation after several years of misery for all local residents.
Yours sincerely,
Victoria Kahl,
Biddenham.
