There are just a couple of hours left to support the Foxy Wings crowdfunder, aiming to raise £40,000 to launch their riverside restaurant in Bedford.
After hitting their initial £20,000 target in less than 72 hours, the Foxy Wings team set a stretch target of £40,000. All donations must be received by 6.59pm tonight (Wednesday).
At the time of writing, the total stands at £33,310 with 398 supporters.
Speaking exclusively to the Bedford Independent, Tim Edwards of Beerfly, who are collaborating with Foxy Wings on the restaurant and bar project, said: “We have huge plans for Foxy Wings in Bedford and really think that our new home can become one of the go-to destinations in the town.
“We’d like to see people travel into Bedford to visit us and hopefully support other businesses while they’re here.”
The plan is to open the takeaway offering in July and will be taking part in Wing Jam, London’s chicken wing festival this summer, entering the competition to find the UK’s best hot wings. Could they bring back the trophy to Bedford?
