Bedford Blues are back in action at Goldington Road this Saturday alongside the famous Ladies Day, which aims to raise money for a selected charity, with Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice selected as this year’s charity partner.

A special £15 ticket is available to all Ladies for Saturday’s game, alongside a complimentary glass of champagne at a specially erected tent outside the CMC Marquee at the far side of the ground as the club aim to raise as much money as possible for a local charity close to many people’s hearts.

There will also be the annual shirt auction after the game from 6pm, alongside a number of other stalls from local businesses in a bumper day of action at Goldington Road.

Blues look to go back-to-back

The main event kicks off at 3pm, with Caldy the visitors as Bedford Blues look for competitive back-to-back victories for the first time since December.

The race for 2nd place in the Championship is tight, with Mike Rayer’s side just five points behind incumbents, Cornish Pirates with Coventry and Doncaster also ahead of them having played a game more.

Mike Rayer has chosen to remain with largely the same group that helped the Blues across line in a 22-12 win against Cambridge a fortnight ago.

With Jamie Elliott one of a quartet out injured, the popular Joel Matavesi returns in the 13 jersey with Kieran Curran inserted into the back row in two changes to the starting line up.

There will be a clamour for Dean Adamson’s jersey at the auction from 6pm at Goldington Road, with the Blues stalwart due to make his 175th appearance in Bedford colours while Jordan Onojaife returns to the bench as he approaches 100 appearances.

Tickets are still available for this special occasion and can be bought direct from the Bedford Blues website here.
