    Full Time, 37 hours
    Graduate Planner - £21,589 - £23,836 per annum/ Planning Officer £31,371 - £32,878 per annum
    Job description

The Development Management team has vacancies for a Graduate Planner or a qualified Planning Officer who has a degree in planning or a planning-related subject and is eligible for or is already a chartered member of the RTPI.

The role will include working on a caseload of varying types of planning applications, from prior notifications, householders and changes of use, to single and multiple dwellings. The role also includes a caseload of pre-applications requests.

The Planning Officer candidate should ideally have experience in development management, but policy or conservation based planning work will be taken into consideration.

Either position requires the completion of a demanding planning workload to meet statutory deadlines; therefore, the right individual must be able to demonstrate strong time management skills and an ability to work under pressure.

The role requires liaising with both external and internal parties, negotiating with applicants, agents, third parties, and communicating effectively with other members of the team. Therefore, you should possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience of planning software package IDOX Uniform would also be an advantage, although that is not essential.

Finally, as the role will involve undertaking site visits across the Borough, access to a car insured for business purposes is a mandatory requirement.
