CODE, created by the ‘Justice in Motion’ theatre company, are set to perform at the Bedford River Festival, on Saturday, 20 and Sunday, 21 July between 12pm to 3pm, in Harpur Square.

As a physical performance theatre company Justice in Motion, shed light on social injustices and CODE is a performance that tells the story of how drug dealers are using children to operate their trade right under our noses.

Cllr Andrea Spice (Conservative, Wixams and Wilstead) Portfolio Holder for Economic Growth, Planning and Prosperity at Bedford Borough Council said: “The Bedford River Festival is a celebration of community and creativity, and we’re proud to be hosting CODE Theatre by Justice in Motion this year.

“We believe it’s a vital story to tell, and we hope it will spark conversations and raise awareness among festival goers of all ages.

“The inclusion of local young people alongside the professional performers adds a further layer of impact, and we commend Justice in Motion for their commitment to social change.”

Justice in Motion says the performance “is a spectacular blend of physical theatre, parkour and trials bike stunts with live rap and music. On an urban playground, skilled athletes and performers show what is happening to our young people exploited by organised drug crime gangs.

“This isn’t just entertainment; it’s a powerful social commentary. Witnessing the chilling reality of County Lines unfold through daring stunts, captivating dance, and powerful music.

“This innovative performance tackles the important issue of County Lines in a powerful and thought-provoking way”.
