Since launching the Bedford in a Day 2024 photography project last week (31 May), we have been amazed at the response and over half of the available time slots have already been ‘snapped’ up.

From families to wedding DJs, astrophotographers to paddle boarders, shopkeepers to streetcleaners, we’ve been overhwhelmed at the quality and quantity of the suggestions submitted, but we still need more to fully document 24 hours in Bedford Borough.

Are you up and about in the wee small hours or are a gig-going night owl? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

Golfers, cricketers, wild swimmers – any sports people – please get in touch.

Families, are you planning a day out in Bedford on Saturday, 22 June? If so, we’d love to include you. Faces full of ice cream, having a picnic in the park, climbing trees, on a bike ride, whizzing down a slide – whatever sums up a family day out to you.

Nothing is too ordinary or extraordinary.

Once all of the photos have been submitted they will be edited into a video by the team at Simply Creative, whose offices are above the Salvation Army shop on Bedford High Street.

Owner, Sebi, said: “This project is an exceptional opportunity to showcase the vibrant spirit and diversity of our community, bringing together different perspectives and celebrating the unique aspects.

“Our agency will be editing the photos and clips into a short, engaging video and it’s an exciting challenge.”

If you would like to take part, please email clanger@bedfordindependent.co.uk with the time slot you would like to submit a photo for and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
