Firefighters from Bedford, Kempston and Ampthill are currently tackling a blaze at an abandoned building at Stewartby Brickworks.
Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service are asking people to avoid the area and advising locals living nearby to keep doors and windows closed, due to the amount of smoke in the area.
However, they do say the fire remains under control.

Currently there are four pumps and one water carrier in attendance at the derelict building on Broad Mead Road.
At around 9:45pm, Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue said the fire had been put out but they’d remain on the scene to ‘damp down’.
This is a breaking news story and will be updated as more details emerge…
