Festive theatre fun for all the family in Bedford this Christmas

It’s panto time in Bedford (oh yes it is!) and if you’re looking for some inspiration for festive family fun over the Christmas holidays, there’s not one, not two, but three productions to choose from.

There’s a full roundup – including ticket prices and booking links – on the Explore Bedford website.

The Quarry Theatre presents their own take on Hansel and Gretel, the ever-popular Pantaloons are bringing Cinderella to the the Place Theatre on Bradgate Road and the Bedford Pantomime Company presents its 14th annual show at the Corn Exchange. This year it’s Rapunzel.

“Traditional panto is great fun for all the family – from toddlers to grandparents,” said Charlotte Gorringe of Explore Bedford.

“With three productions to choose from, you’ll have plenty of chances to ‘boo’ at the baddie, join in the sing-a-longs and shout ‘he’s behind you’!”

Now more than ever, we need your help to fund the Bedford Independent’s quality journalism that serves our community...

We choose to champion editorial independence, meaning we report the facts without bias and can stand up to those in power when we believe it’s needed.

We can give a voice to people in our community whose voices may otherwise not be heard. And we don’t have a paywall, so everyone can read the stories we publish for free.

But in this time of crisis, many news organisations all over the world are facing existential threat, with advertising revenues plummeting. We’re no different.

We work hard every day to bring you news, commentary, entertainment and announcements from across Bedford. We hope that, with your help, we’ll be able to continue this for many years to come.
