EXCLUSIVE: Bedford Eagles announce new friendlies against old rivals

Nick Bennion joins Bedford Town from Aylesbury F.C.

Bedford Town F.C. have announced two new preseason friendlies and named a new shot stopper.for the season ahead.

The matches are against two of The Eagles biggest local rivals over recent years.

On Tuesday 16th July Kettering Town, newly promoted into the National League North will visit the Bright Management Eyrie Stadium, with the K.O at 19.45.

We can also reveal that Hitchin Town F.C. of the Southern League Premier Central will visit on Saturday 3rd August for a 15:00 start.

Meanwhile Jon Taylor has named the first new player committed to sign for the forthcoming season.

Keeper Nick Bennion played for Aylesbury F.C last term, keeping a clean sheet despite The Eagles onslaught on their goal in the January away fixture.

Previously he has played for Barnet, Rushden and Diamonds, Northampton Silby, St Ives Town, Kettering Town, Rugby Town and Marlow.

  • Tuesday 16th July – Kettering Town (Home)
  • Saturday 20th July – Arlesey Town (Away)
  • Thursday 25th July – Biggleswade Town (Home)
  • Saturday 3rd August – Hitchin Town (Home)
