An elderly man was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash near the Roxton Garden Centre yesterday morning (1 August).

Police say a white Kia Picanto and a white Vauxhall Vivaro were involved in the collision between Bedford Road and Roxton Road, near the Roxton Garden Centre, just before 9am.

The road was closed in both directions while emergency services dealt with the incident. The 80-year-old driver of the white Kia was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition.

PC Neil Crosier, investigating, said: “We are working hard to establish the circumstances which led to this collision and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident to come forward.

“Additionally, we are encouraging anyone who was travelling in the area at the time to check their dash cam footage to see if they captured either of the vehicles prior to the collision.”

All witnesses are ask to contact Bedfordshire Police through the online reporting centre or by calling 101 and quoting Operation Boston.
