Did you witness New Year’s Day affray in Offa Street?

Bedfordshire Police is appealing to witnesses to an affray which happened off Ampthill Road at in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

The incident took place on Offa Road at around 1am.

A group of approximately ten people, including men and women, were involved in a verbal altercation before the situation escalated into physical violence.

Police have described three of the offenders as white men who were shirtless, and some of the group were armed with various weapons, including a large knife.

Detective Sergeant Patrick Allerton, who is supporting the investigation, said: “As this incident happened shortly after midnight on New Year’s Day, we are hoping there may be a number of people who might have witnessed it.

“This type of violent incident will not be tolerated in our county, and we are keen to speak to anyone who has information that might lead to us identifying the perpetrators.”
