Competition Terms & Conditions

General Competition Terms and Conditions

  • Employees of the promoter and supplier/s of each competition and their families or anyone else professionally connected to the competition are excluded from entry.
  • Entry implies acceptance of these and competition specific terms and conditions.
  • All prize draws are governed by English law and the courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising in connection with it.
  • By entering any competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by our general and competition specific terms and conditions.
  • It is the responsibility of the entrant to provide correct, up-to-date details when entering the prize promotion and acceptance of the prize. The promoter cannot be held responsible for winners failing to supply accurate information which affects prize acceptance or delivery of their prize.
  • Promoter’s decision is final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into.
  • The promoter and or supplier reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value should circumstances outside its control make this necessary.
  • The promoter reserves the right to verify winners and ask for proof of identity, age and address and to withdraw prize entitlement where there are reasonable grounds to believe there has been a breach of these or any specific competition’s terms and conditions.

  • The promoter reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to eliminate or disqualify any entries or entrants that it regards as being in breach of these or any terms and conditions or the spirit of any promotion. Those who try to circumvent the entry process and/or entry instructions by any method will be disqualified and any prize award will be void.
  • Where a prize is provided by a supplier, the promoter accepts no responsibility for the inaccuracy of any prize description, and the supplier is responsible for prize fulfilment.
  • If any of these clauses should be determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable then it shall be severed and deleted from these, or any, Terms and Conditions and the remaining clauses shall survive and remain in full force and effect.
  • The promoter and the supplier reserve the right to cancel, amend, withdraw, terminate or temporarily suspend this promotion in the event of any unforeseen circumstances or technical reason outside its reasonable control, with no liability to any entrants or third parties but will use all reasonable endeavours to avoid entrant disappointment.
  • The decisions of the promoter are final and binding in all matters relating to any competition or promotion and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • The competitions and promotion and these terms and conditions, and any disputes arising therefrom, shall be subject to English law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh Courts.
  • Data Protection: Any personal information that entrants share with the Promoter will be kept secure and only used in line with these terms and conditions unless the entrant has opted in to future marketing from the promoter and/or the supplier. By entering the promotion, entrants agree that their information may be used by the promoter to administer the promotion and winners consent to giving their name for the winners’ list.

Festive Giveaway 2020

  • Closing date: 23:59, 18 December 2020.
  • Open to Bedford Borough residents only.
  • Brewpoint and St. Cuthbert’s Prizes only open to entrants aged 18 years old and over.
  • Enter by emailing three words that sum up Bedford to you to stating which prize you would like to win.
  • One entry per prize but you can email for more than one prize.
  • Winners will be selected at random. Editor’s decision is final.
  • Winners will be contacted by the business donating their prize to arrange collection or delivery. You must respond within 28 days to claim your prize. Proof of age may be required for Brewpoint and St. Cuthbert’s Prizes.
  • Winners’ name and words used in their entry may be used for future publicity.

Brewpoint November 2020

  • The closing date is Friday 11th December 2020 at 11.59pm.
  • One winner will receive a package of Brewpoint beer and merchandise totalling approximately £200 at retail value.
  • Open to UK residents aged 18 or over, excluding employees of Wells & Co., their families and anyone else professionally connected with this promotion.
  • To take part, entrants must purchase goods from the Brewpoint online store and put the word ‘Independent’ in the Promo box when completing their purchase.
  • One entry per household, per day.
  • The winner will be chosen at random from all correct entries.
  • The winner will be informed by email within seven days of the closing date, and must respond within 28 days to claim their prize. The prize will be dispatched within 28 days of receiving the winner’s address details.

Erdinger August 2019

  • The competition is being run by APN Consultancy on behalf of ERDINGER Alkoholfrei UK
  • You must be aged 18 years or over to enter this competition. ID will be required before handing over the prize. The prize can only be collected by the winning entrant.
  • Employees of ERDINGER Weissbrau, APN or other companies cooperating with ERDINGER Weissbrau are excluded from participation in the competition.
  • All entries will be entered into the competition, the winner will be randomly selected
  • The winner(s) will receive a case of 24 x 500ml cans of ERDINGER Alkoholfrei, 2 drinking glasses, 2 baseball caps and 2 active drinks bottles. The organisers reserve the right to replace the glasses with plastic alternatives if the prize has to be sent through the post

  • The prize will be available for collection from the Bedford Independent office on presentation of the winner’s confirmation email. Office details will be given when contacting the winner.
