Clapham locals can once again access full Post Office services following the reopening of their local branch at a new location on the village High Street.
The Post Office reopened on Wednesday, 15 October 2025, at Clapham Discount Food & Wine, located at 76 High Street, restoring a vital service to the community after the previous branch closed earlier this month.

Longer hours and improved access
The new branch now offers 60 hours of service each week, opening from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday – an increase of more than 19 hours compared to the previous site.
The extended opening hours include earlier starts, later finishes, and Saturday afternoon availability, while lunchtime closures have been removed entirely.
Layby parking for several cars is available within 15 metres of the shop, along with time-restricted roadside parking just 10 metres away.
There are two entrances to the premises: one at the front with steps, and another to the side via an improved ramp to allow easier access for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility.
Inside, the layout has been designed to meet Post Office standards, ensuring enough space for customers and a wheelchair to move around comfortably alongside the shop’s retail offer.
Post Office Area Change Manager, Anthony Bayley, said the move ensures Clapham residents continue to benefit from a reliable local branch.
He said: “We know how important a Post Office is to a community and we are delighted that we have been able to maintain service in Clapham, and with the benefit of longer opening hours too.”
The relocated branch continues to provide the full range of Post Office services, ensuring residents can access postal, banking, and bill payment facilities without having to travel further afield.
