This Friday 15 March, the Ent Shed will host a Music for Lulu fund-raising event for the Lulu’s Fight Against Neuroblastoma campaign.

Richie, Sam and Ryan from festival favourites, the CC Smugglers will now be making a special guest appearance alongside Los the Plot, DJ Ant & Atari Youth Club.

All proceeds from the evening will go towards the £162,000 target that five year old Lulu’s parents need to raise to access life-saving cancer treatment in New York.

“Fighting cancer is unimaginably hard,” said CC Smugglers’ lead singer, Richie Prynne. “Like most people, I’ve lost people in my life to it, but for a five year old and her family have to deal with that sort of tragedy is absolutely heartbreaking.

“Childhood innocence is one of the most precious things in the world, and if I can do anything to help, then I will.”

Tickets are £8 and are selling fast. Get one while you can from The Ent Shed or Fays at Riverside.

Doors open at 7.30pm and there will be a raffle and homemade Indian snacks on the evening.

Now more than ever, we need your help to fund the Bedford Independent’s quality journalism that serves our community...

We choose to champion editorial independence, meaning we report the facts without bias and can stand up to those in power when we believe it’s needed.

We can give a voice to people in our community whose voices may otherwise not be heard. And we don’t have a paywall, so everyone can read the stories we publish for free.

But in this time of crisis, many news organisations all over the world are facing existential threat, with advertising revenues plummeting. We’re no different.

We work hard every day to bring you news, commentary, entertainment and announcements from across Bedford. We hope that, with your help, we’ll be able to continue this for many years to come.
