Three nurseries due to be closed at the end of this month have been saved in the eleventh hour after a buyer was found.
The nurseries in Goldington, Queen’s Park and Wootton were due to close on the last day of this term, 31 March, leaving many parents without childcare and some staff members looking for new jobs.
One YMCA, the charity running the nurseries said at the time that a lack of Government support had meant they have struggled with funding, which resulted in prices going up and has now led to the closure.

However, reports this afternoon say a company called Blue Orkids has purchased the nurseries and they’ll take over on 1 April, keeping the nurseries open, providing childcare and retaining jobs.
The Bedford Independent understand that there are some details left to finalise and One YMCA are writing to all parents to update them.
