A traditional family pub in Melchbourne hosted a black tie ball raising an incredible £6,000 for the local air ambulance charity.
St John’s Arms hosted the event in aid of Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA).
The night, hosted by Debbie, Nelly, Lexy, and the team, also featured a live band and an auction to raise even more funds.
Jenny Standen, regional business development manager for the charity, said: “The Black Tie Ball at St John’s Arms was a great success, and on behalf of the charity, I would like to say thank you to Debbie, Nelly, Lexy, and everyone else involved.”
It was not just the ball that raised vital funds. Throughout the year, locals collected £4,000 for the air ambulance, funding more than four lifesaving missions.
The air ambulance service relies entirely on donations to provide support at major trauma scenes, costing £2,300 for each lifesaving mission.
St John’s Arms are hoping to raise a total of £12,000 by the end of the year to support the charity in carrying out more on-scene treatment.
“Without the support of local businesses just like this, we wouldn’t be able to keep our helicopters flying 24/7, 365 days a year,” said Jenny.
