The Three Cups on Newnham Street will reopen this Wednesday (22 November) with Bedford’s youngest landlord behind the bar – and you could win a £50 tab to spend there.

Finlay Eaton is just 24 but has been working in pubs and hospitality since he was 18 years old. He began his career at Wells & Co’s Foresters Arms on Union Street before working in Hertfordshire and most recently, managing Mitchell and Butler pubs and restaurants in London.

He said he’s excited about returning to Bedford and running the Three Cups as a traditional pub at the heart of the community.

The Greene King pub is a firm favourite among Bedford Blues’ fans for a pre or post-match pint, but Finlay says he’s looking forward to welcoming families, dog owners and drinkers of all ages through the door.

With two real fireplaces, and eight real ale hand pumps there’s no better place for a cosy winter pint – and with no TVs and no wifi, the perfect opportunity to relax and unwind with no distractions.

“I’ve got a lot of friends and family in Bedford who want me to succeed in a pub here,” said Finlay.

“I’ve learnt a lot during my career and I want to build up the business locally and create a pub at the heart of its community. The site is amazing and with some TLC it’s looking great.

“We can’t wait to welcome our neighbours through the door when we launch this week.”
