Staff at the MS Therapy Centre on Barkers Lane are appealing for help from the public after fly-tippers dumped piles of rubbish in their car park.
The centre, which provides therapy and support to Multiple Sclerosis sufferers, receives no Government or NHS funding.
It is currently closed due to the coronavirus pandemic and the charity is now faced with having to spend vital funds on a clean-up bill.
A staff member arrived this morning (Thursday), faced with the sight of bags of rubble, discarded carpets, wood and other rubbish strewn across the car park.
“All of our fundraising events have been cancelled,” said assistant manager of the centre, Harriet Squirrel.
“Due to staff being furloughed or shielding, there are only a few of us able to help clear up this mess. We don’t have the funds or the man-power to deal with something like this.
“We just can’t spend the money on cleaning this up.”
The team are hoping that members of the community can help them.
In a statement on their Facebook page, the MS Centre said, “If there is anyone out there with some community spirit would could help us to clear this mess and take it to the dump we would be extremely grateful.
“Some of it is very heavy and we could really do with several strong helping hands please.”
