The three youngsters from ELEV8 Studios on St Loyes Street, gained automatic selection after being assessed by three international judges in the qualifiers.

Lior (age 12) from Clapham will be representing England in Jazz Dance while Fran (14) from Odell and Will (16) from Sharnbrook will be be competing as Classical Ballet Soloists.

The annual event is the largest dance competition in the world and will take place in Braga, Portugal between 28 June and 6 July.

“Being selected for a place on Team England is highly competitive and an achievement in it’s own right,” said ELEV8 Studio director, Angela Feehan.

“This international stage opens many doors and the team receive great opportunities whilst here in England and during the World Cup itself.

“Both Will and Lior were recently invited to Pineapple Studios in London, where they were fortunate to have a training session with Wayne Sleep.

“An invaluable experience they both thoroughly enjoyed, not least being amongst such great talent.  Throughout the competition, workshops and master classes are available for competitions with internationally acclaimed dance professionals.

“All three competitors are very excited to dance amongst the best in the world and meet many new friends within the small world of dance.”

In recognition of their achievement, Steadfast Roofing Limited have supported these young dancers in the form of sponsorship, helping to get them get to Portugal.

The event will be live streamed, and you can follow the dancers’ progress on the ELEV8 Studios’ Facebook page.
