Bedford’s first Sustainability Week was launched ‘virtually’ yesterday (Monday), with the aim of sharing the environmental message, even if we are stuck at home.
Organised by Cory Walker of Plastic Free Bedford, the online event showcases features and talks from Scrumdiddly Kitchen and Virtuoso Foods, plus tips on sustainable living during lockdown.
Cory Walker said, “We are organising this Sustainability Week as part of our 2020 activities and plans which will hopefully lead us into getting Bedford plastic free status.
“The festival is entirely about living sustainably whether that be on how to eat healthily or to reduce your waste – we’re hoping to add a variety of events throughout the festival.”
A ‘real life’ event will take place in October 2020.
“We would like people to get involved in so many ways,” said Cory.
“Whether that be getting children and young people to create a piece of artwork with recycled materials such as bottle tops etc, or if you would like to be a speaker for our talks – we would love to have you involved.”
