Bedford School’s head master has described the results of its International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme cohort as “outstanding”.
Of the ten pupils who completed the IB Diploma this summer, five achieved the milestone of 40+ points out of a maximum of 45.
And the boys’ average score was almost 38 points, significantly above the global average of 30.5 points.
In a statement, the schools said that the results were a testament to the boys’ endeavour, intellectual curiosity and commitment, and praised the dedication of their teachers and the support of the wider Bedford School community.
Bedford School’s head master, James Hodgson, said: “I am absolutely thrilled for these boys.
“Throughout their time here, they have made the very best of the opportunities they have had for this most rounded and excellent of educations and have capped that experience with an outstanding set of results.
“I wish them all well for their futures; they have built a great platform.”

Three boys who achieved over 40 points have also secured places at the University of Oxford.
Ansel, Tristan and Max have met their offers and will go on to read Law, Geography and German respectively.
