The result of this weekend’s Ladies’ 1st XI match against Ipswich means they remain unbeaten in their last seven games.

Their only loss this season, in England Hockey’s Investec Women’s Hockey League, was their very first match back in September when they went down 2-1 to Wimbledon.

Since then, they have secured a 3-all draw against Bromley & Beckenham, a 6-0 victory over Broxbourne, a 2-0 win against Horsham, a 1-all draw with their earlier nemesis, Wimbledon and a goalless draw to Chelmsford.

Saturday’s Ipswich game ended in a decisive 3-0 triumph for the Bedford side, with goals from England Master’s player, Kelly Bingham, Elli Priston, from a Penalty Corner set-piece, and a reverse stick stunner from Beth Noble.

Week-on-week, Bedford have been climbing up the league table, currently finding themselves sitting in third place, below Barnes and Wimbledon.

Next Saturday will be an away fixture at Horsham, where Bedford will be looking to repeat their previous victory over the West Sussex team.

The Ladies’ 2nd XI will also be pleased with their weekend’s result. Since stepping up to the Premier League this season they have struggled to find their feet, but a 1-all draw against 4th in the table, Harlston Magpies will be a big boost to their confidence.

The same goes for the Ladies’ 4th XI, who have had promotions for 3 consecutive seasons. Their 2-2 draw away to Tring’s 1st XI sees the Bedford team move to a far healthier position in their league table.

The Ladies’ 6th’s, meanwhile have moved into the upper end of their table after a resounding 5-1 victory away to Broxbourne.

On the Men’s side of the Club, the weekend’s match of note was the Men’s 3rd XI.

After going 1-0 down to Welwyn Garden City in the opening stages of their match, the men kept on fighting to finally take the match by 4 goals to 3.
