Among the performers on stage at last week’s BRIT awards were at least ten former teachers, students or crew members of the former Bedford-based 2step Dance Company founded by Sharon De Leonardis.
“It was amazing to see these guys take something that was once a hobby, all the way up to the top of their game,” said Sharon.”Whether it was as performers or choreographers, they were all working together and supporting each other along the way. It just goes to show from a small town like Bedford what we can achieve.”
More talented young stars from Bedford’s 2 Step Dance company, Michael Naylor and Kane Horn will be performing in the upcoming Spice Girls Tour.
Kane and Ben Joseph-Hukin have just returned from performing with Kylie Minogue on her 2018 tour and will be heading to Australia with her this year, whilst continuing to work with Little Mix and Liam Payne.
Former Mark Rutherford student, Michael has been the assistant choreographer for ‘Bat Out of Hell’ in the West End and has been touring in Toronto.
Jaron Johnson was the first 2step success story, performing with Little Mix and is now performing in Cats. He also has his own filming and photography company.
This September, Sharon will be bringing performing arts to the heart of the town centre as part of the Spectacularts carnival.
