Bedfordshire PCC Hustings
To kick off our coverage of the election, the Bedford Independent will be live streaming the first online husting.
The husting has been organised by the Queens Park Community Organisation (QPCO) and will be the first opportunity that each of the candidates has had to address specific issues.

Bedfordshire Police Chief Constable selection – public panel
Candidates for the role of Bedfordshire Police’s chief constable faced a public panel in what’s thought to be the first-ever interview process of its kind to select a new police chief constable.
The candidates were:
- Richard Martin – Deputy Assistant Commissioner for the Metropolitan Police
- Jackie Sebire – Assistant Chief Constable of Bedfordshire Police
- Garry Forsyth – Deputy Chief Constable of Bedfordshire Police
Bedfordshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Kathryn Holloway, invited members of the public and the Bedfordshire Police workforce to attend a public panel that is forming part of the new chief constable’s selection process.
Garry Forsyth was chosen as the new Chief Constable.
