Mike Rayer’s side are currently in the middle of a three-week break from competitive competition after regaining second place in the second tier last weekend, and they will now return to The Rec for the second time in as many seasons in preparation for the final stint of seven Champ Rugby fixtures in eight weeks.

That stint begins on Saturday, 21 March as Bedford Blues welcome Nottingham to Goldington Road.

Last season, they gave Prem Rugby champions, Bath two decent games in the pool stage of the Premiership Cup, almost pulling off a shock at Goldington Road before conceding three late tries in a 21-7 defeat, before heading to The Rec and showing their worth in front of the TNT Sports cameras.

Bath became available for the fixture following their loss against Leicester Tigers in the semi-final of the PREM Rugby Cup last weekend, with Leicester going on to the final to face Exeter Chiefs.

With a hectic season-closing schedule, Rayer and his coaching staff will be keen not to lose momentum, with a home play-off semi final berth up for grabs and key fixtures to come, including against Worcester Warriors and runaway leaders, Ealing.

Also coming up is a trip to Cambridge on Saturday, 28 March, where the Bedford Blues Supporters Club have already filled two coaches to Ellgia Fields for their Big Day Out drive, with a third coach in the pipeline.

You can find out more about that day here, and you can book your ticket on the third coach here.

Before that however, the Blues face a considerable challenge at one of English rugby’s most iconic grounds, with Johann van Graan’s team waiting in the wings.

Tickets for the encounter on Friday (13 March) cost just £5 for adults and £1 for children, and are available via the Bath Rugby website here.
