Bedford band selected to join R&B legends Sister Sledge for UK tour

Bedford band, Funk Odyssey, have been selected to support Soul and R&B legends Sister Sledge as part of their forthcoming UK Foodies Festival tour.

The tour will see the band head to a series of food festivals this summer as the support act to Sister Sledge, featuring Grammy-nominated music icon Kathy Sledge.

Kathy, has had a multi-faceted music career and her legacy as the signature voice in Sister Sledge is instantly recognisable thanks to worldwide anthems like ‘We Are Family’ and ‘He’s the Greatest Dancer’.

Now, Rino Spadaccino, Wanda Terrelonge, Ryan Hancock, Gino Oppido and Damian Fisher from Bedford’s Funk Odyssey will be heading out on tour sharing the stage in Brighton, Winchester, and Tunbridge Wells.

Speaking about their selection, Rino told the Bedford Clanger it is, “An absolute honour, this really is the stuff of dreams.”

Funk Odyssey says they promise to “transport their audiences back in time with every beat, delivering a soulful journey through the golden era of Funk, Soul, and Disco.

A description on their website adds, ‘For us, music isn’t just about melodies and rhythms; it’s about forging connections and weaving bonds that transcend time and space.
