What a perfect start to the festive season for our latest #BoughtInBedford winner, Charmain.
She had a fabulous shopping spree in Bedford’s independent shops, starting at The Store to stock up her pantry, followed by a pint at The Hidden Barrel with pizza and garlic bread from Mamma Concetta.
Then, thanks to the Too Good To Go app, she got a surprise bag of seafood from GCH Fishmonger and sweet treats from Arcadia Sweet Shop.
Finally, some beautiful earrings and a bracelet from Lavender Moss.

“Bedford’s indie shops are a tremendous asset to our town. I love shopping with them for the personal attention and customer service, as well as the excellent quality and variety of products and produce they carry.
“They give our town personality and character, and a sense of place. Whenever possible, I choose an indie.”

If you would like the chance to win a £50 voucher to your favourite Bedford indie, then follow these simple instructions:
- Make a purchase from one of Bedford Borough’s brilliant indies. This can be an item, food, a service (for instance, a haircut, beauty treatment), or a drink… dare we even suggest a coffee from one of our many fine coffee shops?
- Take a photo of what you have purchased.
- Share the photo publicly on an Instagram post using the hashtag #BoughtInBedford. You can also tag @bedfordindependent and the business you bought it from (optional)
If you don’t have an Instagram account or a public profile, you can email win@bedfordindependent.co.uk the photo, including a description of what you bought, where you purchased it, with your name.
We will then publish the photo, description and name on our Instagram account. Winners will be contacted through Instagram or email after the last day of each month.
