A “modest dwelling” could be built on land in Biddenham, if planning is approved.
Bedford Borough Council has received an application to build a single storey detached home to the side of 66 Bromham Road.
The proposal is for a “traditional barn conversion style design” between the grade II Listed home at number 66 and a large, detached home that was recently approved and constructed at 64 Bromham Road.
The applicants said the site is within a residential area within the defined Urban Area where new housing development is “acceptable in principle” and is “a preferred location for new housing development”.
The application’s design statement says the only part of the front garden would be dedicated to providing car parking to meet the “minimum standard for a three-bedroomed dwelling house”.
The application form says if approved it would be a four plus bedroom property.

The overall consultation expiry date is Friday December 6 2024.
The application form states that the applicant is not the landowner, but the “appropriate notice” has been given to the owner.
The Landowner/Agricultural Tenant’s name has been redacted, but the address is given as Borough Hall in Bedford.
