Watch: Bedford & Kempston MP accuses PM of overseeing a “culture of indiscipline”

Bedford & Kempston MP, Mohammad Yasin (Labour) has accused the Prime Minister of overseeing a “culture of indiscipline”.

Following the publication of the report into parties held at Downing Street while the rest of the country observed lockdown restrictions, a Bedford MP has accused the prime minister of lying and asked for his resignation.

Speaking to MPs today (Wednesday), the PM said he took “full responsibility for everything that took place on my watch”.

It follows the publication of a 37-page report by civil servant Sue Gray on the Downing Street party culture.

Mr Yasin questioned the PM, sharing the story of one of his constituents who had been in hospital with an old lady who had died without any members of her family able to visit.

In a Facebook post, Mr Yasin said: “Today’s performance from the PM showed no remorse and amounted to a series of excuses to justify the indefensible.
“Johnson repeatedly said he is ‘taking full responsibility. No other PM would have allowed such a culture of indiscipline to take place on their watch and if they did they would have resigned.”
