In the week she turned 100, Bedford care home resident, Norah Gould has received the best belated birthday present she could have asked for.
Today (Wednesday), Norah and the other residents and staff at Arden House care home in Bedford received the first dose of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) vaccine.
After receiving her jab, Norah told care home manager, Tanya Waite, that she wanted to say “A massive thank you to these wonderful individuals for saving our care home.”
Norah, who celebrated her 100th birthday on Saturday 16 January, received over 1,000 birthday cards after she and Tanya appeared on Good Morning Britain.

Arden House managers and carers were determined that Norah would have a birthday to remember, despite not being able to spend the day with her family due to lockdown restrictions.
Tanya put a call out on the Bedford Kindness Facebook page to ask locals to pop a card in the post.

Hundreds of Good Morning Britain viewers and Bedford residents sent Norah a birthday card and receiving her vaccine is the icing on the (birthday) cake.
